I am Dr. Meha Fatima Aftab Batch of 2008-2012 from the Department of Dow Institute of Medical technology and this is my success story.
Medical Technology is an under recognized field in our country with lack of proper counseling and career paths. Since its inception, our people find it difficult to understand the importance of it and the students often remain under recognized.
I had joined IMT back in 2018 with a vision to counsel students about the career paths and promote research culture in my department. It has now resulted in one of my final year undergraduate group (Ms. Ayesha Asad, Ms. Arham Ashraf and Ms. Jumaja Ali) representing their startup at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Our project "Acusurgicals" has been shortlisted among top 20 projects from 831 projects from around the world that were submitted as part of SOLVED challenge initiated by MIT, USA. I am pleased to form a team capable of representing our institution on such a prestigious platform.
I am proud of being qualified from Dow University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Zoha Aziz on this remarkable achievement! We wish her all the best as she embarks on this new chapter in her medical journey.
My name is Neha Shamriaz Khan. I graduated from DUHS with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, majoring in Human Resource Management, Batch of 2018. Coming from a challenging background in a traditional family in Karachi, where education for daughters was a myth, my journey wasn't typical.
Losing my father at 2, my mother was my sole support through financial struggles and odd jobs. Despite starting in a medical background, my passion led me to Business Management. In 2018, I joined IBHM, and the four years felt like a rollercoaster.
Despite clinical depression and personal losses during the pandemic, I persevered. I was not naturally oriented toward quantitative studies, but I worked hard and earned a Gold Medal. My motivation was not a crown, but a sword; money was essential.
I had a rich academic experience, undertaking four internships and securing a full-time job as an "HRBP at Eplanet Global Pakistan" before graduation. Balancing work and studies, I often worked 48 hours straight, supported by understanding teachers.
To current DUHS students: "Your time here is golden; take risks, learn, and embrace opportunities without putting others down. Be firm in your choices and prove doubters wrong. Life may break you, but don't let it stop you."
Grateful to the IBHM management, teachers, mentors, and friends who believed in me from day one. Their kindness during this journey is something I'll always treasure.
I am Muhammad Talha Khan, an alumni of the Dow Institute of Business and Health Management, batch of 2017, and I'm proud to have created a career in the field of Supply Chain Management.
After graduating, my journey into the professional world wasn't an easy one. It took me 10 months to secure a job, and that period became the foundation for a journey marked by continuous growth. In just 4 years, I proudly assumed the role of a manager.
During my time at DOW-IBHM, I had the privilege of serving as a leader in Corporate Relations and the Entrepreneurial Society. My internship at Pakistan Cables Limited provided me with valuable experience, where I showcased my teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
In addition to my job, I pursued an MBA in Supply Chain Management, excelling academically and earning certifications in Google Data Analytics, Supply Chain Planning, and Microsoft Office. These accomplishments reflect my commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Currently, I am serving as a Manager of Supply Chain and Sales Operations at Unity Foods Limited, where I have achieved remarkable milestones. Being recognized as the Employee of the 1st Quarter in 2023 and receiving the CEO Excellence Award has been truly humbling.
My journey is a testament to the transformative power of perseverance, dedication, and continuous learning—from overcoming the challenges of unemployment to achieving excellence in the corporate world. I am honored to be an alumni of Dow Institute of Business and Health Management, and I take pride in sharing my story as an inspiration to current and future students.
I'm Maria Khan, an Occupational Therapist, proudly representing Dow University of Health Sciences, batch of 2018- 2022. In reflecting on my educational journey, DUHS stands out as a beacon of excellence in Pakistan.
Occupational Therapy might not get the spotlight it deserves in Pakistan, but Dow University of Health Sciences is rewriting this narrative through its unwavering commitment to delivering world-class education that aligns with international standards. The Dow Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation not only laid the foundation for my professional life but also instilled in me a profound sense of confidence.
Stepping into the role of an Occupational Therapist at the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) post-graduation has been a transformative experience. DUHS not only equipped me with the necessary knowledge but also cultivated a mindset that fueled my passion for contributing to the special needs community.
Being a Dowtie is a source of immense pride for me. DUHS not only added value to my degree but played an important role in shaping my professional growth and personality.
Muhammad Ahsan, an SDCP Dental Hygiene 2019 graduate of DUHS, faced post-graduation challenges in a competitive job market. Despite rejections, he persisted, considering each setback a step towards success.
While pursuing an MBA at Dow University of Health Sciences, Ahsan worked in four Karachi clinics as a Dental Hygienist. His commitment to excellence drove him to seek better opportunities. After his MBA, he found a Dental Hygienist role at a prestigious Saudi hospital through a foreign job portal.
Ahsan's application stood out, leading to an interview and selection as a Specialist Dental Hygienist, thanks to SDCP's four-year program in collaboration with Dow University.
Securing the job was just the start; obtaining Saudi licensing posed a challenge, as their program wasn't initially recognized by the Saudi Health Commission. With SDCP's Principal's assistance, Ahsan overcame this hurdle. He's now a registered Dental Hygienist in Saudi Arabia, practicing at a renowned government teaching university in Jeddah. Remarkably, Ahsan is the first SDCP, Dow graduate to achieve this milestone.
Gratitude for the Foundation and Success Achieved at Dow College of Pharmacy
I take immense pride in acknowledging the pivotal role that Dow College of Pharmacy (DCOP) and its esteemed educators have played in shaping my journey to success. The transformation from a novice to a pioneer has been a remarkable journey, one that I attribute entirely to the guidance and nurturing environment provided by this beloved institution.
My time at DCOP was nothing short of golden. The collective efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff instilled in me not just knowledge, but also love, courage, and unwavering support. The confidence that became an integral part of my personality originated here, setting the foundation for my professional endeavors.
Upon graduating in January '23, I embarked on my professional career as a Project Intern in the Quality Assurance department at Abbott Laboratories. This experience was invaluable, as it paved the way for further opportunities. Despite initial challenges in securing positions at renowned pharmaceutical companies, I persevered. In June, an interview call from Abbott marked the beginning of a promising journey, as they expressed their interest in my profile. Around the same time, I received another opportunity from GSK for a Production department internship, which was a testament to my growing qualifications.
With patience and dedication, I was granted the role of Quality Assurance Inspector at Abbott Laboratories. Today, I take pride in inspecting various production areas, contributing to the quality control processes. These accomplishments, coupled with the privilege of working in esteemed multinational organizations, are a testament to the solid foundation provided by Dow. My gratitude towards my teachers and mentors is immeasurable, as their guidance has been instrumental in my growth.
I am deeply proud to be an alumnus of DUHS and carry with me the values and skills instilled during my time there. As I continue to progress in my professional journey, I remain indebted to my alma mater and always hold the aspiration to see it among the top institutions.

I am Dr. Aquil Ahmed Khan and this is my success story.
Management positions at Ministries in KSA are primarily reserved for Saudi nationals. However, if a foreign medical practitioner possesses management training or experience, they may be hired for administrative positions. Only clinical specializations (doctors or nurses) are eligible for job visas, and they are welcome to relocate and assume management responsibilities in the healthcare industry, if they qualify the requirements.
I also participated in a delegation interview with the Saudi MOH in Pakistan in 2011 after graduating my MBA from DIHM. I was once selected, went through the entire hiring process and arrived into KSA right after my MBA. I have been employed in the Quality and Patient Safety Departments since my arrival, and I have been doing this for the past 10 years.
I have been being playing a significant role in the management team at the regional directorate of Aseer Health Affairs in Saudi MOH. Now my workplace has been changed to Saudi Ministry of Defense and appointed as CQI Specialist in the Armed Forces Hospital Southern Region.
Being a postgraduate of DUHS from DIHM, acquiring knowledge and skills from my MBA, that factor became a great beneficial aspect of my success in career. Also would like to add that my Qualification as an MBA from DIHM has been approved and accredited from many international organizations in different countries officially.
I am proud of being a qualified from Dow University of Health Sciences.
